A few days ago in Ibiza an “ocio nocturno” association, at the end of its meeting, asked that daytime entertainment activities close at 8.00 pm. and discos are open from 10pm to 6am.
It is clear that such a measure would hit beach clubs, and it is equally clear (you don’t have to be a magician to understand this) that the real objective is to hit a very well-known structure in Playa d’en Bossa. It is not Ibiza By Night’s intention to get into local disputes. But we believe we can say something.
Even if we respect other people’s ideas, it’s surprising how self-defeating Ibiza can be.
Ibiza represented and represents a global model of entertainment, which has been copied in every corner of the globe, where every year hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world come for the beauty and uniqueness of the entertainment that only “La Isla” can provide.
It is absurd and inconceivable that precisely in Ibiza some characters with surreal excuses such as “environmental problems” and “sustainability” try to damage the entertainment economy.
Ibiza needs all its components, the discos, the beach clubs etc, and it is absurd just to think that the beach clubs have to stop the music at 8pm.
It’s all absolutely surreal.
Perhaps it is time that certain people, towards whom we have always shown the utmost respect, accept the times that have changed, instead of making proposals that are harmful to the island.
