Ethereal is back at Akasha Ibiza!
The cult event will take place Sunday, March 20th, from 12pm.
The organizers said:”In response to the current global situation, Ethereal draws on its love for art and music, dedicating the event to peace, while collecting donations, medicines, clothes, and goods for the people suffering in Ukraine. Continuing its monthly appointment at Las Dalias and its Akasha Club, the constantly metamorphizing event will also introduce a brand-new project: the Ethereal Live Project. Staying true to its emphasis on the magnetic power of the island in general and the north in particular, Ethereal holds its next event on Sunday 20 March, 2022. As always, the day-to-night event will be comprised of art shows including live performances, a phenomenal soundscape, art exhibitions, and a food point, the day-to-night party will once again welcome everyone as it smashes through the doors of perception to keep the unique essence of the White Isle alive and well.
The second date of the 2022 season brings us another collection of fine artists, live acts, and time-honoured DJs to create an event to remember. Kicking off the day in the Garden at 12:00 noon, the marvellous duo Imane & Carmen with their FLAWLESS: Music for the Soul will be taking care of the first two hours of the day. The Ibiza-based female duo click to perfection, creating warm harmonies, elegance and empowerment. The result is food for the soul and bliss for the heart.
Next up, the spotlight goes to Davide Garra who will be performing live accompanied by returning guest drummer Michael Alcaras to lead guests on an aural trip. With his blend of ambient, deep, and psychedelic techno and his across-the-board background as a pianist, guitarist and singer, the ground-breaking Italian artist Garra is widely admired for his striking performances and Visionaire events at the Sunset Ashram, Teatro Pereyra, Guaraná, Veto, Sankeys, and Bora Bora, to name a few.
Spicing things up, Sena will be taking over the decks next. Loved by the locals, he has already acquired quite the following with his quality mix of music and extensive experience.
Closing out the garden, the classically trained violinist FREYA adds her distinctive style of electronic music. Recognised for her captivating and spontaneous sets, she crafts a tale with her music, taking listeners on a musical trip. Inspired by life, the Zurich-based DJ and producer is a natural story-teller.
At 6:00 pm, the action moves inside the Akasha Club, with island darling and Ethereal resident Maricha, who consistently brings in her incomparable mix of deep house, afro-house, downtempo, chill-rave, and her own live vocals—what she calls “intelligent dance.” The professionally trained pianist and vocalist is loved for both her beautiful sets at intimate sunset parties and her powerful dance energy on massive dance floors with vast crowds.
Following her, the deeply rousing island marvels Medusa Odyssey will be playing live. The Ibiza-based duo are famous for their unique show with synthesizers, electric guitar, flutes, vocals and drum machines. The result is a unique and awe-inspiring ethnic sound. One of the island’s finest, Iban Mendoza will then be playing live with a mix of his finest tunes. This event also marks the start of another concept: the Ethereal Live Project. Medusa Odyssey and Ivan Mendoza go at it together for a full hour with a new live set bound to deliver a whole new dimension of all these exceptional artists.
To close the night, resident DJ Edoardo Marvaso will take to the decks. Drawing inspiration from the musical wealth of the island, the Ibiza-based DJ blends modern electronica and vintage grooves, mixing techno with house, in his productions and DJ sets alike. Working in electronic music for over 20 years, he has his own record label and toured globally, besides having been with the Ethereal clan from the start. The music producer and DJ was the mind behind the first-ever electronic music festival in Italy: the first editions of Sonica festival. In charge of the Ethereal record label and booking agency, he holds residencies on Ibiza and has been a regular guest at international events such as Glastonbury Festival, Universo Paralello, Voov Experience, Fusion Festival, Rainbow Serpent, Creamfields, Boom, Glade, besides releasing tracks on Vapour, Tropical Beats, 7 Oz, SFS Music, Sweep 181 Quanticman and Nuhar.
Staying true to its spirit, Ethereal brings a wave of new visual artists to continue making a strong artistic impression on the island. Curated by Rocio Ferrer, this month’s dazzling collection of artists includes new names once again.
The Ibiza-based Dutch artist Marielle Yogi will be displaying her abstract works, graffiti, and street art. Drawing inspiration from being present in whatever moment she finds herself, the artist makes humanity her primary subject, while her style distinguishes itself with rough brush strokes and quick lines.
Another new entry, Mary Sue Loher presents the unity of life in her art. Drawing on the planet’s different languages and ways of communication, she creates a style all her own while demonstrating that, despite the countless apparent differences, we all speak the same language.
Also on display, the Madrid-born, Ibiza-based Wendy Trip Colours has been painting graffiti since 1998. This multifaceted artist creates paintings, sculptures and scenic art. The soul of her work is her heart.
Finally, foundational part of the Ethereal team from the beginning, Lorenzo Melissari will be exhibiting his photographic art. Exemplifying how teamwork is at the heart of the Ethereal project—with Vito creating the story while Lorenzo recounts it—he turns the event into a full-blown experience by telling the story of Ibiza and nature with photographs that always capture the feeling that emerges from each subject.
As always, Ethereal brings in sensational dancers and performers, Paula, Joanna, and Nicole to enrapture you with their live performances the likes of hula-hoops, contortionist displays and much more.
Firmly established on the island for its ability to offer a genuine space for artists and guests alike to live out their visions and individuality, Ethereal runs from 12:00 noon until late on Sunday 20 March, 2022, welcoming everyone with open arms. Remember to bring your contributions for the Ukrainian people as the Asociacion NUESTRA UCRAINA (see attachment). Now get into your white and/or peace-inspiring garments out to celebrate the peace as it should be.”
