LEHAR, the appreciated Italian dj & producer, will be one of the protagonists of DYNAMIC at DC-10 Ibiza July 5th with artists as Solomun, Maceo Plex, Magit Cacoon,Musumeci, Moscoman, Adana Twins & Innellea.
Ibiza By Night met LEHAR for an exclusive interview, and we talked about music, the future projects and, of course, of …Ibiza…
IBN:Let’s talk about Ibiza & Lehar: what does the island mean to you?
LEHAR:Ibiza is such a paradise, I think it would be the only place I will live apart Italy.
For me, Ibiza has always been a place full of fun which takes me closer and closer to the electronic scene since I was very young, even before I started to do this Job.
Since this year Ibiza has become more and more an important spot as we (Musumeci and myself) started our first residency at Heart with our MUSE brand. Apart from this, I’m very excited to be back at DC10 with our Diynamic party.
IBN: In Ibiza, a lot of special stories come about. What’s happened to you, anything to share?
LEHAR:“Many many memories good and sometimes also bad, it’s more than 15 years I’m traveling to the island many times in the summer. I love to spend time finding nice typical restaurants with my girlfriend..“
IBN: Tell us something about your new productions – what are you working on at the moment?
LEHAR: “At the moment I am planning many things to do in the next few months, how to organize the production works..in these weeks just came out the collaboration with Aldebaran on Afterlife, the remix for Owami, Plus a double EP (3 tracks by me, 3 tracks by Musumeci) on our Multinotes, which is more or less a year of production (2018/2019).”
IBN: Who’s the greatest artist you’ve ever seen perform – what made the performance so special?
LEHAR:”One of the greatest I think Chick Korea, more than 10 years ago at the blue note in NY, my father bought me when I was a teenager all the collections and chick for me was a hero, that time was the first time I saw him performing live. Talking about our music scene I really love John Talabot, Gerd Janson, Âme and Dixon when they play b2b long sets are so special, and Solomun when plays at afterparties is something unique.”
IBN:You’re known for some incredible b2b performances with Musumeci, can you tell us the story behind how you two met and the joint performances?
LEHAR: “We met more than 5 years ago in a party in Malta, since the first time we met I felt a special connection between us, after a short period we became good friends and it was kind of spontaneous to start collaborating together in the studio and in the booth.”
IBN:You’ll be featuring at the Diynamic party, hosted at DC10 on Friday 5th July; what aspect of this party are you most looking forward to?
LEHAR:“DC10 is one of my favorite clubs in the world, I played in both rooms (never in the garden). This time I will play a special 2h30’ sets with Musumeci in the Terrace, I am already excited.”
