Ibiza 2022 is a season that is going really well, the island is full of tourists and the clubs have started working in a big way.
But the fact that we love the island doesn’t stop us from talking about the things that are wrong. And in Ibiza 2022 there is a serious problem. The scarce number of taxis.
It is indecent to see the long lines of tourists waiting for a taxi.
Just go to the taxi stops in the port, outside a hotel, or a club, to realize that finding a taxi has become a titanic undertaking (the only positive note is that waiting times have definitely improved at Ibiza airport).
This is a problem that comes from afar and that institutional decision-makers have never wanted to solve. It is INDECENT that an island with a tourist vocation has an inadequate number of taxis and does not allow alternative forms of paid transport (such as, for example, UBER).
We hope that the summer of 2022 will be the last with these unacceptable inefficiencies, also because – and local politicians should try to understand this – it is not possible for a holiday on the island to turn into a complicated obstacle course to get around.
