Ibiza By Night meets Luciano: the exclusive interview!

LUCIANO: “I met the guys I used to work with, Ernesto Senatore & Roberto Postiglione and we had a positive and exciting discussion about a collaboration at Amnesia, then we spoke with Idriss, my team & family… Everything was so fast! But there was the right energy and it felt right. And this is everything I look for when I do whatever I do, music, party. It was an incredible chance and I was absolutely blessed.”

LUCIANO: “Ibiza is home, I have family here, my mum lives here, . I have been coming here for twenty two years. I have been throwing parties here almost for nineteen – twenty years, so it’s been a long journey. When I step onto Ibiza I kiss the ground because Ibiza gave me everything, Ibiza gave me a platform, Ibiza has a big place in my heart.“

LUCIANO:“I remember a very funny story, that happened some years ago. It was at an afterparty… it was Cocoon closing, everybody was there, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Johannes… We were partying for two days. At one point, some friends and myself decided that it was time to go. It was daytime, we left the house, it was one of those typical situations when you pretend like everything is fine (laugh). The car was parked outside of the house, I was trying to open it but I didn’t see that Spanish TV was filming. The reporter was saying “Yes, Ibiza is turning into this hard place, afterhours at private houses and bla bla bla”. The Spanish TV was filming us coming out of the house…  I started to receive texts from friends saying “Luciano you are live on TV, be careful, put your t -shirt on!”.  I didn’t understand, we were a bit crazy coming out of the party, we were trying to enter this car and then we realised that we were live on TV, so many friends wrote to me for weeks “Luciano we saw you live on TV…” Can you imagine?!”

LUCIANO: “This is relevant, more than for an artist, for an individual, I know a lot of people who don’t have a family and they are great artists. They decided to live this way, without a family, this is something that is designed through every person. In my case my family is my oxygen… my mother, my kids, my sister, my friends. Family is a very important stage, I live because I wanna share with my family, this is the reason why I do all this, it’s important to know the way to process,  family is the only chance to be grounded, the rest are … words.”

LUCIANO:“Well first of all you have to like music (laugh), you must have an ability with music. It’s not only the desire to make music, you have to be very honest and true … If you have this ability or no. There are people that really like to play tennis but they can’t. There are people that wanna play music but they don’t have the rythm. You need to have an affinity with it. And second you have to put music first. Music comes first before your ego. The third thing is don’t get lost… Music is the first focus. Don’t focus on other things…music is the most important.”
