The 7.5-magnitude quake struck just off the central island of Sulawesi, setting off a tsunami that engulfed the coastal cities of Palu and Donggala. The death toll is expected to be in the thousands, with a large part of homes and infrastructure destroyed. People are surviving in temporary shelters and on the street, with no water, electricity, communication, and other basic needs.
To help the victims we pulled together a last minute fundraiser happening this Thursday at Arena Club in Berlin.
The following artists have come together to support this effort, representing some of the most cutting edge electronic music collectives in Berlin:

All proceeds go directly to the #palukuat relief action – a local grassroots relief action organized by a network of art spaces, collectives, and individuals: lifepatch (Yogyakarta), Forum Sudutpandang (Palu), Muhammad Rais (Makassar), and Rully Shabara of Senyawa – Rully Shabara & Wukir Suryadi (Palu/ Yogyakarta). #palukuat aims to deliver quick relief, filling-in the gaps between larger organisations such as the Red Cross / Red Half Moon, and to later strengthen local people in their process of rebuilding after the devastating event.
The first needs identified by the initiative are solar powered electricity, water filters, solar powered lights, and communication means. A first group of #palukuat supporters have already left for the affected area yesterday, with supplies. Lifepatch and partners plan to send further aid based on local needs that these supporters and family in the area will communicate to them.
The CTM Festival team is currently in Yogyakarta for the Nusasonic festival and artistic lab, which includes organizations such as Lifepatch and other artists with strong ties to Palu. I will travel to Yogyakarta with the proceeds on October 6th – passing the funds directly to Lifepatch, which will coordinate aid purchase and delivery. I will post updates on the activities and delivery on my social media.
