International Music Summit (IMS) 2017, the three-day educational, inspirational and motivational thought-leadership platform held annually in Ibiza, announce new internationally respected speakers to the summit roster. IMS, previously described as “the TED of music conferences”, has without question been responsible for industry leading initiatives and positive change and in 2017 continues to set the agenda for global electronic music via its summits in Europe, North America and Asia.
This years Ibiza summit presents a carefully curated programme of inspiring talks, technology masterclasses, networking opportunities and cutting edge events, spearheaded by skilled experts, experienced music business minds, established artists and the next generation of breaking talent.
With a diverse range of contributors, IMS reveal a further 10 women and 10 men joining an already impressive list of speakers marking the tenth anniversary of the summit, including Bernard Sumner from New Order, Dixon, Masters at Work – Louie Vega & Kenny Dope, The Black Madonna, The Martinez Brothers, Austin Kramer (Global Head of Dance/Electronic, Spotify), Elrow – The Arnau Family (Founders, Elrow), Gianfranco Bortolotti (Founder, Media Records) Nick Sabine & Paul Clement (Founders, Resident Advisor) Patrick Walker (Director of Media Partnerships, Facebook). Panellists will give personal insight and opinion on a expansive array of topics; debating the electronic music industry’s most pressing issues.
Unifying insight, inspiration and experience; IMS proudly present 10 of the industries strongest female voices, with perspectives from established luminaries including Andreea Magdalina founder of She Said So, a global network of women within the music industry pushing the diversity debate forward, Sulinna Ong, VP Artist Marketing at Deezer UK who will bring digital insights from one of the leading streaming platforms, alongside international DJ Miss Kittin and BBC Radio 1’s B.Traits.
Confirmed to join the discussion is Alice Favre, of LWE, whose London focused company is behind the recently launched Junction 2 Festival as well as an impressive array of large scale events at two of the capitals latest venue additions Tobacco Dock and Printworks. In addition, Rachel Turner from Achieve Unlimited, who begain her career founding two record labels, a publishing company, an artist management company and a club promotions company before becoming a Business Psychologist and performance coach. Featuring on the Health Vs Hedonism panel, she brings 25 years knowledge of the industry and solid experience supporting entreprenueurs, leaders and creatives in achieving success.
Bringing her knowledge to the YGN/ Buzz Jam presents: Meet the new member of my band, He’s/She’s a Coder panel is Alexandra Cárdenas. A teacher and performer of live coding, Alexandra is among the pioneers of live coding in electroacoustic music and part of the forefront of the Algorave scene.
Lindi Delight, Founder of De Light Management, brings her decade of experience and passion for electronic music to the Health Vs Hedonsim panel, joined by leading artists and broadcasters including BBC Radio 1’s Monki and Louisaahhh in discussing how to achieve a well balanced, healthy and sustainable career.
10 leading male voices will add their viewpoints, including Eelko Van Kooten, one of Rolling Stone’s top 50 most important people in EDM and Founder & Owner, of Spinnin’ Records, regarded as one of the worlds leading dance labels. Joining him will be Jason Ellis, Artist and Relations Director at Positiva / Virgin Records, responsible for some of the UKs biggest cross genre dance hits he has navigated its vast catalogue through shifting musical trends. A key voice on the impact of change in A&R over the last decade.
Wade Cawood from Pulse Global and Johnny White aka Art Department join together at IMS to announce the launch of an exciting new global project.
As he prepares to launch his very own Ibiza residency at Pacha, acclaimed DJ / Producer Hot Since 82 will speak on the 10th Annual Ibiza Debate, adding yet more weight to the programme.
Andreas Allen, Head of Artist Relations for Native Instruments has over 20 years experience in the music industry, responsible for initiating global brand partnerships and cultural marketing campaigns. Joining him on the roster is David Emery, VP of Global Marketing Strategy for Kobalt, with a vast knowledge in how artist and labels alike can embrace a truly global vision and service an ever increasing nomadic network.
Esteemed promoter and CEO of RPM Presents, Eddie Dean – the man responsible for Pacha New York and bringing the first Pacha to China – will stand alongside Cosmopop CEO Steffen Charles, the creative force behind Time Warp Festival and Seth Troxler lifting the lid on the inner workings and culture of powerful, influential club events.
IMS now add further international elements to the debates with global speakers appearing from the USA, Canada, Germany, France and The Netherlands making it the strongest network of speakers in its 10 year history.
