Cristian Varela is one of the most loved spanish dj’s.
Summer 2014 in Ibiza was successful for Varela (in the picture below) with an elegant party at Blue Marlin Ibiza and many sets in other prestigious locations of the island..
Now starts a long winter with a tour that will include in next days a showcase at Ade Amsterdam.
Ibiza by night met Cristian..and we talked about a great summer, about Ibiza..and the future projects!
IBN: Hi Cristian….let’s start to talk about “the isla” ….how was your summer 2014 in Ibiza?
Varela: “In a few words , overdrive but very positive and energetic“.
IBN: You had a successful residency at Blue marlin..after many years of clubs why u decided to move in a beach club?
Varela: “It’s a nice project in a beautiful place, but above all a project that came just when I needed a change, different sensations and I think Eivissa too“.
IBN:Cristian Varela and Ibiza… how is your relationship with the island?
VARELA:”My relationship with the island always been very special. Since I started ten years ago b2b sessions with Carl Cox at Space, where every night was magical. After I’ve had various projects, the last last year with my party CRISTIAN VARELA & FRIENDS on Privilege and finally this year with a very personal project which produces a change way at the music scene on the island and making enjoy every Wednesday a select audience as the BLUE MARLIN IBIZA“.
IBN: Outside Ibiza…where is in Spain for you the most intriguing musical scene?
VARELA: “Intriguing? Actually I think Madrid…” IBN: Summer has finished.. which are your tour plans for wintertime?
Varela:”Now Asia especially Hong Kong at Volar club between others, and South America with an special dates at Mexico between other countries..“.
IBN: And what about your productions.. what’s cooking?
Varela:”A lot of news, for example the New album in Toolroom sublabel RHYTHM DISTRIKT with remixes From My Friends Marco Bailey, Uto Karem, Boris And Gabriel D’or & Bordoy“.
IBN: You played in many different location during you long career..which one is the one that you remember more..and why?
Varela: “Japan because is different“.
